Looking for a COBB Accessport in Canada? AFR Autoworks is an authorized COBB dealer, and the Accessport V3 is the handheld that reflashes your factory ECU in minutes — no laptop, no wiring, no permanent changes. We stock the Subaru applications, ship across Canada and the United States, and flash and dyno tune these in-house at our Red Deer, Alberta shop. If you would rather have it done for you than do it yourself, that option is on the table.
Accessport V3 by Subaru platform
Every Accessport is built for one platform, so the first job is matching the right part to your car. These are the Subaru applications we carry:
Not sure which one fits a car that has been swapped, imported or already modified? Send us the year, chassis and transmission and we will confirm before you order.
COBB beyond Subaru
The Accessport range covers far more than the boxer platforms. We also carry COBB applications for Ford (Focus ST and Fiesta ST, Focus RS, Mustang EcoBoost, F-150 Raptor, Bronco Sport and Maverick, and the Raptor R), Mazdaspeed3 and Mazdaspeed6, the Mitsubishi Evo X, Honda Civic Si, BMW N54 and N55 cars, Audi S4, S5 and SQ5, Volkswagen, and a deep Porsche range including the Cayman, Boxster, Macan and 911. Accessport mounts, holsters, faceplates, protective film and OBD-II cables are here too.
Stage packages and supporting mods
COBB's off-the-shelf maps are written around specific hardware. A Stage 1 map assumes an otherwise stock car and needs nothing but the Accessport. Stage 2 and above assume supporting modifications — typically intake, exhaust and, on some platforms, an intercooler — so the map and the hardware have to match, or the tune is working against the engine rather than with it.
That is the usual build order: Accessport first, then intake, then exhaust, with a map change at each step. If your build is heading somewhere the off-the-shelf maps do not cover, a custom tune picks up where they stop — and on Subarus running standalone engine management, our Link ECU range is the other path.
Flashing, tuning and support at AFR
This is the part a catalogue cannot ship you. AFR Autoworks is a working tuning and build shop, not only a parts counter. We flash Accessports, load and adjust maps, and dyno tune customer cars in Red Deer — walk-in work included. If you buy the hardware here and would rather not do the install yourself, book the car in and we will handle it.
That experience is what informs which map we point you at. Our own builds include the fastest Canadian-built Subaru and the world's fastest single-billet-turbo MKIV Supra, and we tune street cars, track cars and race cars on the same equipment. If you want the longer version of how we approach a Subaru build, read So you want to tune your Subaru? — and Our Shop covers what is on site.
About COBB Tuning
COBB Tuning is an automotive engineering company founded in Rockwall, Texas by Trey Cobb in 1999, built around the idea that a car should be tuned as a complete system rather than a pile of individual parts. From an initial Subaru focus the range has expanded to BMW, Ford, Mazda, Porsche, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Volkswagen, covering engine management electronics, intake tract components, turbocharged exhaust systems, turbo kits, drivetrain and suspension.
COBB designs, engineers, manufactures, tests and services its own products under one roof — which is a large part of why the Accessport has stayed the default handheld tuner on these platforms for more than two decades.
Frequently asked questions
Which Accessport do I need for my WRX or STI?
Match it to the year, chassis and transmission of your car using the list above. The splits that catch people out are 2006–2007 versus 2008–2012, and the 2022+ VB chassis, which needs its own part. If your car has been imported, engine-swapped or already tuned, send us the details and we will confirm the right one before you order.
Does the Accessport work on a Canadian-market car?
COBB's supported-vehicle list is defined by model, year and market. We sell these in Canada for Canadian-market cars, and we will confirm coverage for your exact year and trim before you order if there is any doubt.
Can I switch back to the stock tune?
Yes. During installation the Accessport stores your factory ECU data and uses it during the uninstall process to return the vehicle completely to stock. Worth knowing: once an Accessport is installed it is locked to that vehicle and cannot be used on another car until it has been uninstalled from the first one.
Do I need a custom tune, or are the off-the-shelf maps enough?
For a stock or lightly modified car running the hardware a COBB map was written for, the off-the-shelf maps are genuinely good and most owners never need more. Once your combination steps outside what those maps assume — a different turbo, injectors, aggressive cams, ethanol fuel — a custom tune is the honest answer, and we do that here.
Can AFR install and tune it for me?
Yes. We flash Accessports and dyno tune in-house at our Red Deer shop, including for walk-in customers. Get in touch and we will book you in.
Will an Accessport affect my emissions test?
An Accessport replaces the factory ECU calibration, and these are sold for off-road and competition use. Emissions requirements differ by province and change over time, so check the current rules where the vehicle is registered. If you do need to present a car in its factory state, the Accessport's uninstall process returns the ECU to the stock calibration.
